Towns of Tasmania - Sorell Sorell is the third oldest town in Tasmania according to local antique dealer, Martin Dix and is on the Tasman Highway East of Hobart. That means you will pass through Sorell on the way to Port Arthur and the Freycinet. Sorell has a supermarket, Cafes and Takeaway food stops and terrific colonial or modern bed and breakfast accommodation, namely Blue Bell Inn, Colonial Barrack Cottages and Cherry Park Estate. Being 15 minutes from the Colonial village of Richmond, it is in the midst of the convict trail and has many historical features. You could even stay in these 1830's officers barracks in Sorell. Fabulously restored and a couple even have a spa!

and before you leave Sorell,
take a look at the former Station, now an antique
shop!
