The football oval in the picture is one of only two in Australia that are made of Gravel. Yes, that's no grass, just gravel. Legends have been made on this ground. How the heck do you think they administer the 'blood rule'? The old fellas that played here will tell stories about how an essential part of your personal equipment for games on this ground included a toothbrush - that was so you could scrub the gravel out of your grazes after the match! Over the years lots of broken glass has made its way into the surface! Bottles are regularly rolled into the surface, squashed to small pieces by the council roller! Good Grief.
